Five Ways to Shield Yourself From Negative Energy

Everyone has energy that extends beyond the physical body. The brain energy field can be detected a few inches away. The heart energy field can be measured up to six feet away!

Imagine what can happen when someone to your right is upset about a health issue, the person to your left is sick and tired, and several other people in the room are also low for one reason or another. How do you think this energy will impact you?

What if one of these people has an active dislike for you? Or if there are dark spirits in the area?

Fortunately, we don’t have just passively accept whatever is in the environment. We can shield ourselves and strengthen our auras so outside energy doesn’t impact us. Here’s how.

Create an Energy Shield

This is a quick way to create a bubble of safety that takes only moments. Just close your eyes. Imagine that you are surrounded by a beautiful white or gold light that allows your energy to move out, but doesn’t allow energy to come in. Let yourself see the soft glow of the energy bubble. Maybe it feels warm or cool. Let yourself feel it. Know that it’s protecting you. When it feels adequately strong, you can open your eyes and go about your day.

This energy shield will usually last all day. Be sure to re-establish it each day. It is easiest to remember if you do it at the same time every day. It will get stronger and will last longer as it becomes a habit.

Maintain Healthy Lifestyle Habits

Unhealthy lifestyle habits weaken your energy bubble. Doing things like getting adequate sleep, eating healthy foods, engaging in healthy social relationships, speak using high vibration words, and getting regular exercise helps energy to flow well and form a healthy barrier. Your energy bubble is like your skin. It will keep the good things in and the bad things out as long as it’s strong.

The mind, body, and spirit are connected. As within, so without. You know your energy bubble is strong when your body is strong.

Reduce Negativity

Do you watch the news? Do you engage in gossip? How often do you complain or blame? Are you a drama queen? Do you debate people on social media? These are all examples of negativity. The more negativity you have around you, the weaker your energy bubble becomes. Whether it’s you or someone around you, it impacts your energy. If you want your boundaries to be stronger, change your environment and behaviors.

Everybody gets sad, down, or has low energy days. If that’s how you are feeling one day, go with it. It will pass. I don’t mean to suggest that you can’t engage in natural cycles. This is more of a suggestion that you look your behaviors rather than feelings.


Meditation is the action of emptying out. It is creating space. We live in a busy world where we are always taking new things in. If we don’t ever stop to exhale, we take more and more on until we explode. Using meditation to help empty the mind each day keeps your insides calm. When you have inner calm, your energy is more settled.

Practice Healthy Boundaries

Strong boundaries are great. They separate things and keeps them distinct. If all I have to deal with is my own energy, I’m always in control of my own mind, body, spirit, and emotions. If I am carrying other people’s stuff, the load can get heavy. The easiest way to avoid that is to learn to say no when you mean no and yes when you’re a yes. It’s easier said than done, but this is a skill that everyone can learn.
